Cinnamomum mathewianum sp. nov. (Lauraceae) : A new species from Kerala, India. by Remya Krishnan R.V., E.S. Santhosh Kumar*, Radhamany P.M. , Valsaladevi G. and Jagadeesan R. – International Journal of Advanced Research (2014), Volume 2, Issue 7, 29-32-
AbstractCinnamomum mathewianum Remya, E.S.S. Kumar, Radhamany, Valsala et Jagadeesan, a new species in Lauraceae from the Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve is described and illustrated. The new species resembles Cinnamomum cuspidatum Miq. in many respects, but clearly different by the short trunk; betel scented coriaceous leaves with gradually acuminate apex, perulate terminal buds, longer inflorescence with dark maroon flowers, usual 2-celled anthers in all three whorls and the ellipsoid ovary with peltate stigma. It is named after Prof. P.M. Mathew for his valuable contribution to the field of Biosystematics.

Cinnamomum‎ ‎(Lauraceae) : 2 posts by 2 authors.

I have updated eFI (efloraofindia) page on Cinnamomum (Pl. click).

Attempts have been made to incorporate most of the species available in India & nearby areas with details & keys directly or through links as far as possible. It’s quite possible that there may be some discrepancy in the accepted names & synonyms taken from other links.

Species discussed so far in efloraofindia are given at the bottom of the page in the form of links against Subpages. On clicking them one can see all the details.

If someone can provide complete list of Indian species with source references it will be wonderful.
Any comments/ corrections are welcome.

Wonderful page, learnt something today

Pl. go through Cinnamomum (‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎Lauraceae) page with images of species in efloraofindia.

If you find any incorrect identification, pl. let us know. If anybody can send images of other species of this genera (for incorporation in the website), if any, or can identify unidentified images, it will be really nice.
