Location – Place – Kakuli Lake, Badalapur (Near Kalyan), Maharashtra Habitat – Garden/ Urban/ Wild / Type – Wild Could this be Corchorus trilocularis of Malvaceae family (earlier Tiliaceae)?
I think more details on the floral part would help in confirm the species. But, it is Corchorus sp. for sure. Pl. find the attached file contain photo for id. request.

Habit: Herb. May be Malvastrum tricuspidatum! This is a species of Corchorus. can it be Corchorus trilocularis? This has been discussed before on this forum. It is vey difficult to make a diagnosis in this case without seeing the fruit. Corchorus trilocularis L. ?? .
Herb for Id : 230912 RV 3: Please help to Id this herb…….found in wild in the same area of Khopoli/Pali near Mumbai. May be Corchorus olitorius, but corchorus fruits striations and tip need to be check, before any conclusion. It should be a Corchorus species. But without seeing fruit it is difficult to confirm Corchorus olitorius L. or Corchorus aestuans.
I think it is more close to Corchorus aestuans L. than C. olitorius . Edible Jute : 2 posts by 2 authors. Could you pl. post your pictures for identification ?
