An orchid..Anoectochilus sp?? Kalatope id Al050912:
Today during our rambles in the woods… we came across this plant…
finding it unusual I am sending it to you for identification… I’d love to find out any information about this…

This could be Goodyera biflora.

Thanks a ton … Do you have any idea when is the flowering season of this species (E-flora mentions Feb-Jul)…. The place is rather distant from my house… and I really want to see this flowering…

When did you get this pic. The plant should be flowering now, April – May.

The photograph was taken on 18th April and I had visited the same spot yesterday and it looked very much the same as before (No Buds as yet)… 🙁 However the spot is not very warm and maybe it will flower soon… Will try to visit again next week and keep you updated…

On my walk yesterday I found this orchid growing on the ground. I would have missed it if not for its bright white flowers against a dark rain-soaked background. The leaves immediately reminded me of Goodyera and a quick search later suggested Goodyera biflora. Please correct me if I am wrong.
