Hydnocarpus alpinus ?


Hydnocarpus macrocarpus ID request #531: 5 high res. images.
Sharing images of female inflorescence.
Location: near Vannappuram, Thodupuzha, Idukki Kerala INDIA (Alt:1500fsl)

Flower: axillary umbel inflorescence peduncle length:08mm, umbel diameter:04mm, densely micro flowers, non fragrant


These do not look like the female/bisexual flowers of Hydnocarpus macrocarpus at all. Am I missing something?


It is captured from same kind of tree having same kind of leaves from same location.  Can you please post image or diagram of female inflorescence?


The female/bisexual flowers of Hydnocarpus macrocarpus would be crowned with a conspicuous, lobed stigma. Please refer to the attached document from the KFRI report on this tree for reference.


Thanks a lot for sharing the images and information.  I think the images provided by me are immature inflorescence, otherwise maybe attack by pest.  The images captured from a very lower branch of the tree.


Can it be something from Loranthaceae?
Pl. post images of the complete leaf and the tree branches.
