Salix psilostigma Andersson, Kongl. Vetensk. Acad. Handl. 1850: 496 1851. (syn: Salix eriophylla Andersson);

China (Sichuan, Yunnan), Tibet, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sikkim, Myanmar [Burma]
(Chin, Kachin) as per Catalogue of life;

Khasia hill is the type locality of Salix psilostigma Andersson (syn. Salix eriophylla Andersson).

This species is found in many parts of Meghalaya. I collected this near Elephant falls, Shillong.
