 Please help me to identify this large grass found in rain forest of southern western ghats. The seeds are almost 0.3cm across; leaf: 20×1 cm. Grass height: 1.5 metres Date: 25 Aug 2012 Place: Valparai, TN Alt.: 950 m asl This is Scleria sp. of Cyperaceae. Not a grass. The stems of most Cyperaceae are triangular in cross section, whereas all grasses have circular (terete) cross sections. Scleria species, need a specimen to identify it. |
