Scrophularia himalayensis Royle ex Benth. Scroph. Indicae 18, 1835
Obtusely angled robust herb with ovate-lanceolate to ovate-cordate leaves without appendages on petiole; flowers in few flowered cymes forming a loose panicle about 10 cm broad; sepals obtuse-rounded, scarious-margined, shorter than capsule; corolla green, 4-5 mm long, upper lobes longer than others; fetile stamens much protruded from corolla; capsule globose, style 6-9 mm long.
Common in Kashmir usually at lower altitudes.
Photographed from Kashmir University Botanical Garden, Srinagar. I find these images to be somewhat different from others at Scrophularia himalensis Royle ex Benth., with respect to the stem, inflorescence, colour and shape of the flowers/ corolla, shape of the sepals etc.
May I request you to pl. have a relook. Strongly protruding stamens seen in third image point to that only. However, I have asked Dr. Anzar Khuroo to recheck it, as plant was grown in an experimental bed for research purposes. Here are some pics taken today.
4 images- 1 to 3 mb each. Thanks, … Question is that these look different from other images at Scrophularia himalensis Royle ex Benth.
It may be some other species. Yes, they may be.
I just shared the pics of the plant that grows in the Kashmir University Botanical Garden at this time of the year.. Taking it as Scrophularia polyantha till another alternative is found, as S. himalensis is not reported from Kashmir valley Scrophularia polyantha looks close. Scrophularia polyantha Royle ex Benth.

I had already conceded S. polyantha That is why I said also. Thanks … for bringing up the issue and finally solving it. .
Looks like lamiaceae. Nepeta ? Resembles with Verbascum sp. Please check Verbascum chinense (Linnaeus) Santapau! I think it is Scrophularia. I guess you are right . References:
