Suggestions on creating a mini forest/Garden

I would love to get some suggestions regarding creating a natural garden with native plants/shrubs/trees.

I live in Bangalore, my name is Sandeep Murthy.

I have a small plot of about 6000 ft.² on the outskirts of Bangalore. Right in the middle of this plot, we would like to build a small house.

And surrounding the house along the border of the plot, I plan to have a Miyawaki style forest. Along the border of the plot , in about 20 to 25 spots, on all four sides of the plot, I would like to plant the saplings on Miyawaki style. From what I’ve read, it involves planting one tree species, one shrub, small plants and one vine in a one square metre area.

What are the general thoughts about creating Miyawaki style planting? Is it good or are there better ways?

What are things to keep in mind? and what are the best plant species/tree species to plant and trying to attract maximum birds/butterflies.
