This tree was planted in Lalbagh Botanic Garden Bangalore, Karnataka, India came for naming in 2012 in our eflora of India. Could you please have a look this please and offer its possible id.


I’m assuming it is confirmed as Myrtaceae but I don’t recognise this genus/species at all. It doesn’t match any Australian plant. Clustered flowers like that are found in a few genera from South America: eg, Eugenia, Myrceugenia, Myrciaria (fruit and seed features would help). I suggest you forward the images to someone who knows South American taxa. Possibilities would be: …
