An input received led me to Impatiens amplexicaulis…. This looks like I. badrinathii, recently described by Pusalkar and Singh – leaves are amplexicaul, but spur is straight/almost straight. Both description and figure in FoC are misleading.
Yes, it is I.chungtienensis. Balsaminaceae, Geraniaceae and Oxalidaceae Week :: DV20 :: 31 JUL 12 13:01 :: Balsaminaceae » Impatiens thomsonii at Auli : 4 images. 3 posts by 3 authors.

Impatiens badrinathii is the same species as Impatiens chungtienensis (see the 2015 paper attached). Thanks … for update and sharing the useful paper. … is correct. Apparently Himalayas are corridor along which I. chungtienensis wandered from China to Uttarakhand (or in opposite direction?).
31 JUL 12 I think, this one is Impatiens chungtienensis Y.L.Chen (what has been called Impatiens badrinathii on this forum), and not Impatiens thomsonii. OK …, I will revise my notes accordingly. Saw this near Ghangaria on Ghangaria-VOF trail, Uttarakhand in Aug 2018.
Requested to please provide ID, is this Impatiens chungtiensis?
May be as per images at /species/a—l/b/balsaminaceae/impatiens/impatiens-chungtienensis Flower images not so clear but I guess Impatiens sulcata Wall. Thanks … for the feedback. I. chungtiensis on efi seems to have a straight spur, I had overlooked that. Here the spur seems to be curved.
However, the size of the flowers differs, these are smaller than the ones on efi. Could this be something else? Yes, Impatiens chungtienensis. . Location: Jumla, West Nepal
