This is close to or likely to be Polygonum viscosum Ham. – http://blog.naver.com/PostView.nhn?blogId=nstdaily&logNo=150072230002

But, majority of pics available in the net have a bit different leaves –

Thanks for the upload … and thanks for putting your efforts …!

The 5-parted perianth and hairy characters of the stem were also insisting me to go with Persicaria viscosa…. but the leaf shape and red blotch were confusing me. I wonder if the red blotch has earlier been reported in P. viscosa.
Generally we can see red blotches in P. maculosa and P. lapathifolia..but this plant is definitely different from both in having 5 parted perianth and hairy stem. Danser (1921) while working on P. lapathifolia, recorded leaf blotches a constant character. Hence still wondering where to put this plant.
Waiting for some more inputs.

Thanks … I was wondering how you missed this post. However, I stressed on hairy peduncle and bracts as well as ochrea. Didn’t find any red blotch, found a few darker patches. Leaves seemed to me okay, except wavy/undulate margin.

Thanks again for your comments …,

I was talking about those darker patches only… as seen in Fig. 5. I’ve never seen them in P. viscosa. Further please check the leaf margin and acumen in the links you have given. For me they are very different.
Probably I have to explore more in the field, herbaria and literature.
Till then we can take it as P. viscosa only.

I have no explanation for darker patches/blotches.
It seems to me that in the pictures in this thread there are two plants – one with bigger broader leaf, with serrate or crenate margin and the other plant is the Persicaria in question.
In this first pic if you see at the bottom middle you will see the perfect leaf of P. viscosa (leaf blade ovate-lanceolate or elliptical-lanceolate FoC, lanceolate acute or acuminate FBI).

Thanks … for writing back! Somehow I am still not convinced.
Please check this link (Research gate) which says the number of secondary nerves in leaf ranges from 19-23 (-25), margin is again entire.
I agree that in the first and second pics a mixture of two plants can be seen. But still the leaf characters of the plant in question are intriguing.
Waiting to hear from other experts too.

Yes, …, agree, nerves are much less in this specimen. It should be some other species.
