Pogostemon mollis

Pogostemon mollis Benth., Labiat. Gen. Spec. 155 1833.;

Branched subshrub; branchlets several, hirsute, ascending. Leaves ovate-orbicular, to 3 x 1.5 cm, base cuneate, margin crenate, apex acute; petiole to 0.5 cm. Racemes spicate, uninterrupted, to 9 cm, mostly terminal; bracts linear. Calyx-lobes 5, subequal, 4.5 mm. Corolla white, 3 mm wide; limb obscurely 2-lipped; lobes 6 mm, obtuse. Stamens 4; 3 filaments longer, to 5mm.

Seen this herb (Looks like some Pogostemon sp, Lamiaceae Family) at Mullayanagiri Hills (Karnataka, Chikmagalur region).

It is Pogostemon mollis a common species in South India.


 

Please help me to identify this Lamiacee member with fragrance. This is seen in a rocky exposed surface.
Plant: 2.5 feet tall
Leaf: 5 cm long
Habitat: open dry place

It is not Pogostemon purpurescns, it might be P. mollis
