Kindly identify this small plant growing on rocks found on 7/8/12 in Muscat, Oman.
Have not seen such a thing before, don’t even know if it comes under plants or something else.

It looks like an Asclepiad

…, Very interesting plant. Do you have a better photo of the flower. Or if possible you can break the stem and see if it oozes some milky latex. It looks like an Asclep but its very new to me.

I will have to see if I can locate the plant again. If I do, will definitely do as suggested by you.
There is a small correction.
The picture is taken on 7/8/2009 and not this year as I had mentioned in my post.
Will try to locate and take more pictures.

Mat be some Quaqua!!! just a guess.

This has been identified by … as dried Aizoon canariense..

…, who is the Head of Temperate Regional Team, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew has been very kind enough to help me in identifying my Oman flora, when I approached her.
She has written books on the flora here.
Aizoon canariense is a very common herb here growing wild.
I could not identify it in the dried form.
I am attaching a picture of the plant taken over the weekend.

The dried plant got me confused.

Its strange but to me, your dry plant doesnt match with the green plant !!

On searching for Aizoon canariense dried plant, I found a picture, which looks similar to my picture.
Information given is that the seeds are locked and protected in the dried fruit. Only strong rain will cause the seed to open.

Our search is over since I found a picture taken by me last year.
This shows the flowers, fruits and part of the plant dried up resembling my earlier picture.
This picture has been taken in a place little away from Muscat known as Al Hoqain.

I have no issues with green pic. I said, to me, the green and the dry
one dont match.
I might be wrong, but, they do look different.
