Taken at Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka on the 18th of November, 2010. Nuwara Eliya is at 1892 meters above sea level.

I think this  is a kind of “ice plant”,  which also have daisy like flowers; Aizoaceae, one of the cylindrical leaved species of Mesembryanthemum or Delosperma.

Yes … is correct, the flowers represent Aizoaceae, and not Crassulaceae or Asteraceae.

The flower size however, seems to be larger than 1 inch in diameter. In Delosperma the flowers are 1/2 to 3/4 inch across.
I suppose it represents Lampranthus multiradiatus.

For me the ID by … is correct. Please check this link also for confirmation: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/180247/.

Thank you, …  I had checked and identified it with the help of some Cacti and Succulent book published by Timber press.
I still think, there is some scope for error.

Lampranthus roseus (Willd.) Schwantes is a synonym of Lampranthus multiradiatus (Jacq.) N.E.Br. as per

Also see other links:
I think the id is OK.

Kindly help with identification of this Cultivated Succulent.

a ground cover  for xeriscaping, esp along the highways in sw usa

pinkish or purple ice plant 2with rounded tip to the ?leaves

you’ll run into a lot of species names

run the key

many things are called the purple iceplant
but many have thin blades or pointed ends to their leaves … yours seems to be like the perfectly rounded succulent leaf tip..

most likely would be Drosanthemum Floribundum Rosea
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/183673/

however do run the key and if you have more pictures that would help you.

and let me know what you decide …

Thank you for another unknown succulent. I agree with the genus, can’t say about the species.

I think my plant has been wrongly identified.
I have posted it in another thread as Lampranthus roseus? It should be L. roseus or L. multiradiatus or L. productus.
