Bot.name: Tanacetum dolichophyllum

Thanks to  …  and … for identifying this for me.

Also frequent in alpines of Uttarakhand and locally called as ‘Guggal’ or ‘Dhoop’ for its aromatic rootstocks which are burnt in Havan.

Tanacetum dolicophyllum ABSEP2016/03 : 4 posts by 3 authors. 4 images.

I found the first plant near a place called Ilaqa which is about an hour-hike from Triund and is situated at about 3100m. After sighting the first plant I kept on seeing them till 3400m beyond which I did not walk. The last photo of a cluster of them is taken at that altitude. Please correct me if I have made a mistake in the identification. I found out after returning that it is called ‘dhoop’ in Hindi and presume that this plant is used in making the resinous putty like black incense of the same name
