Coreopsis lanceolata is a perennial plant found throughout the eastern and midwestern parts of the United States and Canada, the West Coast of the United States and Canada, and parts of Mexico.

The plant produces yellow flowers in late summer. Lance-leaved coreopsis is commonly grown as an ornamental plant in gardens.

A few pictures of an asteraceae plant from my garden, Trivandrum.
Taken on 17 Sep 2011.
Linear, narrow leaves, thick and rough. 8-10cm long.
Long petioles.
Yellow flowers. 4cm across.


Regarding this post of mine I had got a mail from … which identified the plant as, Coreopsis lanceolata L.
