Seen this herb at VOF.
Bot. name: Myriactis wightii
Family: Asteraceae
Date/Time: 08-08-2012 / 12:05PM

Taking it as Myriactis nepalensis as per discussions in the post at Myriactis nepalensis on eFI

In view of Singh ji’s post of Myriactis nepalensis, I think it more likely to be Myriactis wallichii as per keys in BSI Flora of India and FoC.

Also matches with images in FOI.
POWO mentions M.javanica as a syn. of M.wightii.

Another case for M. javanica as per BSI and COL

To me these images almost look same as in
http://www.flowersofindia.Wallich’s%20Myriactis.html

Pl. have a relook.

May be you are right

I think this is Myriactis wightii
Outer florets start white and probably fade to pink.

I think yes

Wild Herb captured on 13/8/10 during the trek from Ghangaria (around 11,000 ft.) to Hemkunt Sahib (around 14000 ft.).

Myriactis nepalensis, the ligules some times turn purplish with age.

Myriactis nepalensis indeed

Thanks, … I think it is not there in Concise Flowers of Himalayas by Oleg Polunin & Adam Stainton. However, flowers look different (though may be same species as pointed out by …) in earlier thread on Myriactis nepalensis– may be due to different time of photographs

The species is common in Himalayas and has white ray florets, but may be some times purplish

Let us place it under M. javanica following BSI Flora and COL

Pl. have a relook.

To me these look like images of Myriactis wallichii.

Your plants seems to agree well with this one on iNaturalist:

There seems to be a mix of images of two species at
https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/898064-Myriactis-wallichii

True! The white one should be Myriactis wightii. I was referring to the one showing pinkish flowers.

Yes.
