Here are mine from Delhi, in a dinner party

I hope you would be knowing … She just told me we have pink ones here too.
Thanks for sharing the Delhi ones…

Taste was too good.
I didnt save the seeds. Its very easily available in the market.

I saw and photographed this in a marriage party in Delhi
Sold in some good fruit shops in Delhi under the name Dragon fruit.

Dragon Fruit (mixed thread). No images, only discussion:
its called dragon fruithas white or reddish pink pulp with green or red skin on the outside… you wash it cut it open.. thousands of black seeds and pulp show up
you use a spoon (special spoons with serrated ends, originally designed to eat grapefruits.. is best) to scoop out the pulp and eat… seed and alll. eat it as after dinner fruit with some cheese… like brei or soft cheeses .. (not blue) … yum…
we get it in India… in hotels like the Grand or Taj in Delhi where they get these exotics flown in esp for their chefs… I get it at Oberoi Grand in Septemeber once in awhile.. iffy supplier…

That’s cool, I will try next time i go to market
Today there is a number 8 typhoon warning, so office is off and hope markets would be closed too.
It was too windy and rainy outside.

How come Dragon fruit came in this thread, a cactus, fruit now a part of Dinner parties in Delhi at most functions. I had uploaded it recently.

Somehow conversation ended up with … about Hazaribag had Palms in this thread, he said he was from Ranchi… etc etc about sitaphal and it went on from there?  AND YES I remember you had uploaded the fruit and I had said If I find mine from one of my dinners at the hotel I’ll upload… thanks, for refreshing view of the fruit…  … here’s what they look like. in… pics… stay indoors… and healthy… and keep writing to us . as long as telephone lines are open… typhoons are no fun…

…The thread I was thinking about was not this one… it was about the Brahmakamal flowers, where we had a similar discussion… I was not a memeber when this particular thread happened in January…

yes I saw the pics. I know the fruit. Its very well available in the market and most probably they cultivate it somewhere here in HK itself. Will try my luck. Internet says its laxative hence one should try to test is before eating!!

Like I said, I have eaten a whole fruit at various dinners.. in september mostly in Kolkata… no side effects to speak of…
