Twenty five odd years ago he began a Society for Cactus and Succulents. We used to meet in Chandigarh, on the first Sunday of every month to discuss plants, various growing techniques, exchange seedlings and cuttings, drink tea and have brunch. I have some great memories. A journal was published quarterly and I still have my old copies in storage He was very generous with his time and plants and I learnt much from him. Every visit to his house would generate some new species for me. Thanks a lot … for this information My hats off for Dr Sarkaria. I had visited this garden more than dozen a times but not knowing anything about him. thanks a lot for sharing your memories. I would like to meet you if you are in Chandigarh/Panchkula (if you dont mind). As i have to visit Panchkula Sector 2 and 5 regarding my lectures of EDUSAT there. Pls also tell more about that Cactus Society. Is this working presently. If yes i would like to be a part of that Society References: |
