.     Commelinaceae for id 271010MK1: Kindly help to confirm this Commelinaceae herb. Could this be Cyanotis sp.? Date/Time- 14-11-2010 / 05:00 PM – This could be Cyanotis axillaris. But am not sure about the identity as the allied species Cyanotis cucullata also look alike. But differs in characters of their fruit. If you could give the details about the fruit, I can sort it out for you.           Cyanotis axillaris (L.) Place : Hooghly This looks like Cyanotis axillaris [previously Tonningia axillaris]. Certainly there are few C. axillaris (eg. the left one in the first pic) in the attached pictures, but thought there might be another species growing side by side.
