Hispid creepers. Leaves to 4 x 4 cm, 5-lobed, cordate at base; lobes rhomboid, acute; petiole 4-5 cm long. Peduncle 2.5-5 cm long; bracts 1.5 x 1 cm, ovate, obtuse, 2-5 together, forming a capitate head, Flowers 3 together; sessile; sepals unequal, to 9 x 3 mm, acute, hairy; inner smaller; corolla purple, 15 mm long, campanulate, glabrous; filaments unequal, inserted near the base of corolla tube. Capsule 6 x 6 mm, globose, puberulus in vertical lines; seeds pubescent, black.

Type – India, Kerala, Kollam (Based on wight’s collection) (Kew)
Description – Small climber in the undergrowth of forests on ground ferns and small herbs, pubescent with spreading trichomes. Leaves entire or lobed, inflorescences in boat-shaped involucrate bract, head like cymose clusters, the outer bracts ovate, basally truncate-cordate, apically acute, each separate bract 1.5 cm long, the inner bracts smaller. Flowers sessile to subsessile: sepals subequal, lanceolate-acuminate, 7-9 mm long, pubescent with spreading trichomes: corolla purplish to pink, funnelform, 1.5 – 2  cm long. fruits subglobose, 5 mm long, Brown, Glabrous: seeds glabrous, brown, 2 mm long
