Wild flower for id – 210912 ANB-0002 – Mumbai: This is Ipomoea pes-tigridis L. Syn: Ipomoea pes-tigridis L. var. hepaticifolia (L.) Clarke; Ipomoea hepaticifolia L. Ipomoea pes-tigris. The name is derived from the shape of leaves that appear like paws of Tiger. Yes, nice set of photographs of Ipomoea pes-tigridis . This is another convolvulaceae from the same place, Khanpur-Barijhati, and i failed to record a blooming flower. A few hours make a difference!

          Ipomoea pes-tigridis Linn. from Hooghly: This is growing near my home, in a damp place inside our bazaar area. It is interesting to note that FoP states, this species prefers thorn scrub and dry habitats ! My earlier upload was also recorded at another place beside a marsh. It is also interesting that the flowers were in full bloom at 9.45 a.m., unlike the one i saw earlier, for the first time – efi thread. Hope i haven’t made any mistake.

Beautiful photos. ID is correct (for me). These plants are seen in Mysore city also. Leaves shape is very special in this. But, the bad news is that they cut & removed the vine yesterday and cleared the area. I noticed it this morning.
Very nice pictures of Ipomoea pes-tigridis I can see the trichomes on stem; the characteristic lobed leaves. The pinkishly tinged white flower.

A climber, probably from Convolvulaceae family seen at Maharashtra Nature Park, Mumbai on 22/7/2012. No flowers when the picture was taken.
Initially I thought it could be the common Railway Creeper with purple flowers, but the leaves are different. Could this be Ipomoea pes-tigridis leaves as seen in Flowersofindia? Yes to Ipomoea pes-tigridis. Thanks a lot for validation of my suggested id. I. pes-tigridis has lobed leaves but the lobes are irregular and are having wavy margins.
