This is a gem of a plant.
You had posted it as your best picture of 2009. Shot at Akraswadi near Matheran.
I really like this one. I always thought that this must be a rare plant and I won’t be able to observe this but I could spot it last month in Mulshi

Plant habit: creeping, branches, slender weak angular stem 01mm in diameter, annual
Height: 10 cm
Leaves: alternate, quadripartite, leaflets opposite 02 pairs, ovate, size:01×0.5cm or less
Flower: bracts, racemose, diameter:02.5mm, yellow with brown, non fragrant, closed around 11.00am
Fruit: capsule, ovate, compressed, single, green into brown, size:04×03mm
Seed: brown, single, pea shaped, size:03×02mm

For me the ID is correct. I knew it as Zornia species. Now the name is changed.


I remember to have seen this somewhere in Wayanad during my visit. Of course long back.
