M.monosperma and gigantea were seen in Andaman recently. M.gigantea has 4 to 8 in. long pod with smooth faces and double wings along both edges and with 2-4 seeds.
‘Flora of Andaman describes also ‘M. nigricans’ with long pods having folds and plaits on the surface, with wings along the edges and 2 or 3 seeds. Dr S. R. yadav has discribed yet anather species as M.sanjappi. Perhaps M.gigantea and nigricans are endemic to Andaman?
