Came across this Prostrate herb at a small field within Nagpur City.
Family: Mimosaceae
Date: 17-10-2009
Definitely some sp. of Neptunia. The soil where i found this was more or less dry.
Kindly provide the ID for this..


Neptunia oleracea?


… has identified this as Neptunia triquetra. Here is his reply…
“this is Neptunia triquetra Bth. in Hook. Lond. J. Bot. 4: 355, 1842.
i collected in wet places in Mumbai.
the leaves are sensitive to touch”

Small plant with flat pods seen at Gangapur Grasslands on 15th Oct,15.
There were no flowers when the picture was taken.
Unfortunately, I have only one picture.
Leaves very close to Mimosa Species.

Id pls collected from Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh on 10 May 2025: 3 images.
I collected this plant and this plant habitat is Very dry wet land in this season (May’25). In my observation, Neptunia characters are shows like touch me not. this plant shows sensitivity. any one tell me. A flowering plant in the  Fabaceae family. It is a herbaceous plant with prostrate, spreading habits, commonly found in cultivated fields, dry wet Black soil. I observed characters likes Neptunia triquetra (Willd.) Benth.

sir not matched Neptunia plena (L.) Benth. Because It is a perennial or shrub and grows primarily in the seasonally dry tropical biome. But The above species a herbaceous plant with prostrate, spreading habits not shrub.
