Geranium pusillum from Kashmir:
Thanks … for alerting me for my upload of G. pusillum which finally turned out be Geranium molle
Geranium pusillum is much more common species in Kashmir, but having clicked similar species in June in 2010 (which grows in Kashmir, but never seen by me before), confused me.
Having visited Kashmir in May this year I was able to click G. pusillum this year. I am uploading the same. The two closely related species can be separated as under:
Geranium molle: petals deeply notched, 3-8 mm long, longer than sepals; leaf lobes closer together; carpels wrinkled; filaments glabrous in upper part
Geranium pusillum: petals shallowly notched, 2.5-3.5 mm long, scarcely exceeding sepals; leaf lobes diverging from base; carpels smooth; filaments hairy in upper part
Another closely similar species G. rotundifolium has petals rounded at tip, not notched.
