Munnar

Date: June 3 – 6, 2014 … Elevation: around 1600m asl
¿ Centranthera Sopubia ?

Dear friends, please help with ID.
Found this small herb growing in wet areas on slopes along NH 49 near Chinnakanal, Munnar.
All of the leaves seemed crowded near the ground, and among them arose the long slender peduncle bearing about 4 – 6 flowers. Flowers measure about 10 – 15 mm across. Please notice the leaves with textured venation, near and behind the peduncle

I got a comment from … in facebook … “it is henckelia sps from gesneriaceae previously known as didymocarpus“.

Hoping to know the species.

Henckelia humboldtiana [=Didymocarpus humboldtianus]

More comments from … in facebook … arrived to possible ID of Henckelia fischeri. Please validate.

Sorry for the wrong id. It is Henckelia meeboldii [= Didymocarpus meeboldii]. Please correct the id accordingly. There is an image of this plant in link

Thank you very very much … for the corrected ID and for the illustration.
