This small tree or large shrub was shot near Shilling….and I think this is Cocculus laurifolius…..I hope you will correct me if I am wrong..

Small Tree For ID : Bhimtal,Uttarakhand : 230413 : AK-1 : 2 images.
A small tree seen at a resort in Bhimtal on 23/3/13.
Was told that it remains green always.
Was given a local name for it which I can’t recollect.
Any idea about the id?

Seems Cocculus laurifolius (Menispermaceae).

I think the ID of my plant needs to be checked. It looks much different from the ones posted by Rawat ji and Nidhan ji.


There are a lot of variations in the shape of leaves in this species. Specimens from Jawa, Peru etc (RBG, Kew)look different from south Indian plants.
