Loc.: Itanagar, (ca300m), Arunachal Pradesh Date: March, 2009 I think this plant is from the family Menispermaceae Could this be some Stephania from Menispermaceae. It may be Parabaena sagittata (?) of Menispermaceae. Leaves appears rounded to shallowly cordate. sagittate leaves are characteristic of Parabaena. You may be right. I am not familiar with this sp. Not agree with Parabaena sagittata!

Please check with Anamirta I have uploaded similar plant (identified by us as Parabaena sagittata) from Manipur, in a separate thread. Please check and provide your comments. I am not sure because key characters are missing in the pictures to run the key. But I tend to support … view on the basis of most of the Stephania leaves are peltate (http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=131433), whereas, Parabaena sagittata has cordate leaf base (http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=123833) Agreed with… ID.
