Please help me to identify this lilly found planted at a private garden in Kotagiri, TN.

Is it a lily? Appears something from Gramminea and not Liliaceae.

Ho can it be Graminea (Poaceae)? It could be belongs to the family Hypoxidaceae.

This may be an Oenothera species of Onagraceae.

Oenothera for sure, for species let us wait

Are you sure this is a lily ? The flower looks like evening primrose, a type of Oenothera……? If it is Evening Primrose, you can watch the flowers open at dusk, they unfurl slowly and we have it in the UK but a different variety of foliage.

I think this plant is Oenothera biennis L. of Onagraceae, commonly called Evening Primrose.

I think leaves are too narrow for O. biennis. Let us explore more.

I checked all the links provided by you. It is Oenothera no doubt. But unable to fix the species as  foliage is not matching exactly.
