Kindly identify the plant.
Date: 21st May 2011.
Location: Paddar valley district Kishtwar J&K.
Altitude: 4200 meters asl.
Plant height: 15-20 cms
Plant habit/habitat: Wild herb

I hope Hesperis matronalis

Often running wild (escape from cultivation).

I have also photographed some cultivated crops and fruit trees of my area and I will post them also in future.

This is rocket… a noxious weed *** illegal * ** to sell seeds in some new England states… many many moons ago during my study days.. the garden club I belonged to used to say when you see it bury it…
 it crowds out and overwhelms benevolent native species….
flowers are so pretty that many were / are tempted to grow them…
In India we should have similar rules… that its seeds should not be sold or exchanged for planting…
learn from other’s mistakes… why make our own mistakes….
