Problem with my watermelon peperomia : 7 posts by 4 authors. Attachments (2)- 1 Mb each. I bought this watermelon peperomia a few weeks ago. I live in Mumbai. I water it when the soil which is well draining is dry to touch and give it medium light. I see that the new leaves are quite yellow and not green. Can somebody explain why? What am I not doing right? Younger leaves generally light green or yellowish green. Watch for some more time till they mature. If the problem persist add cow dung manure (handful) . If you are keeping the plant in a shadow area bring to semi shade area.. in addition you might be over-watering it. usually that is the the problem with african violets and peperomias as newly acquired houseplants reduce watering (only water when about 3-4 cms of the top of the soil feels kind-a dry also its better to water from the bottom, put a saucerful of water under the pot for a few hours second reason could be light and nitrogen content, so also follow the advice given by … I notice you have left it in the plastic pot, most of the houseplant peperomias are succulent, Peperomia argyreia (Hook.f.)
