Clematis flowers are apetalous. This is the only wild species with purple flowers in Maharashtara. Flower size 1.5 to 2.5 cm across. The more mature flowers will probably look more purple. Clematis hedysarifolia [almost] blooming: …., it is not the stem tendril but the common petiole that twines around a support. In Naravelia of the same family the terminal leaflet is modified into a tendril like structure. Am aware of the orchids presence there, but not sure of the species – possibly D.barbatulum.
