Ranunculus trichophyllus occurs throughout much of the Northern Hemisphere, from the Mediterranean east through Siberia, the Caucasus, the Middle East, the Himalayas, Kazakhstan and Mongolia to Kamchatka in the Russian Far East, Japan, China and the Korean Peninsula, it also occurs across central North America.

Perennial aquatic herb with submerged leaves divided into capillary segments, 2-3 cm long, dark green; petiole 5 mm long, sheathed at base; flowers white, 12-15 mm across, solitary in leaf axils on up to 3.5 cm long pedicel; sepals 5, elliptic, 3-4 mm long; petals 5, obovate, 5-6 mm long, white, yellow at base with lunate nectary; achenes up to 30, on obovoid head.

I hope Ranunculus aquaticus. Ranunculus trichophyllus Yes Sir. Thanks.. After posting, I realized that It was not R.aquaticus. This plant is not from India; but I like to know the name of this. Is this any Geraniaceae?

Date: 06 May 2014 May be a Ranunculus sp. May be Ranunculus trichophyllus… May be Cabomba caroliniana? not indian plant this is not Cabomba sp. The plant is Ranunculus aquatilis var. diffusus Thank you Sir for the ID. R.aquatilis (Common water crowfoot) is common throughout Europe, produce white flowers, floating leaves deeply lobed into broad wedge shaped segments (Polunin, 1969. Flowers of Europe). .

the plants from Harwan, Fortnight and also Camargue, France, are R. trichphyllus Chaix. The plant from Dhorpata needs to be checked for R. himalaicus Tamura. Correct taxonomy below:
