Requesting to please ID this plant captured in the Ooty Botanical Gardens, Ooty in November 2013.

This was cultivated in the Ooty Botanical Gardens

this is also found as weed along borders of tea estates (only in few localities)

This has been identified as Pomaderris apetala by … on the Facebook group

Agree it is Rhamnaceae… Pomaderris sp. beyond that: may be, may be not P. apetala. flowers are in bud stage only in these 4 pictures and i can not focus on the surface when enlarged to see the possibile hairs.
Leaves venation  and surface seems similar to published features in this key it is described as large leaves with “lumpy ” surface but here they are not large and there are supposed to be hairy twigs, branches and undersurface of the leaves. i cant see them here and not seeing even one open “flower” which are described as having NO PETALS
(this university of Auckland site). seems to me that that should be the clincher. in this second link the two diagnostic features are beautifully illustrated.
, please look at these three links and look in your files if you have pictures that may support these key features.
