A tall tree, height more than 70 ft.
Local marathi name: Vanbhendi
Wihte rumped vultures prefers to nest/roost on it

– This looks like Tetrameles nudiflora.

Its a great specimen. Pls take the giant buttressed roots also in your next visit. It is Bhend but nothing to do with Malvaceae. It is Tetramelaceae. Pls tell us when it flowers in the next 1-2 months.

– Have seen a gigantic specimen of this tree at Savrat Ghan in Phansad WLS. The local name is Ran-bhend.

– I saw these trees at Phansad WLS last week. Ran-bhend name seems to have come from obvious similarity of leaves with Thespsesia populnea leaves.

We found this massive tetrameles tree in a stream, growing on bare rock. This was during a trek in Dandeli WLS in May 2013. It was well over 30 meters rising above the canopy. Just a magnificent sight!
