Endemic to the Western Ghats – Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala (Ahmeduliah and Nayar 1986, Cook 1996). It is seen from Bombay to Kerala (Subramanyam 1962)<\/font> as per IUCN and ZOO 2011 as per India Biodiversity Portal<\/font><\/a>;<\/span><\/div>\n

Lithophytic herbs. <\/font>Thallus variable, thread-like or disc-like, attached firmly throughout the length, bearing leafy secondary shoots. Leaves sheathing, distichous. Flowers minute, zygomorphic, bisexual, naked, emerging from a spathe; stamens 20, monadelphous; staminodes 2, linear; ovary superior, oblique, 2-locular; ovules many, on a massive placentae. Capsule nearly globose, splitting into 2 unequal lobes. <\/font><\/div>\n

I think it should be Dalzellia ceylanica<\/em><\/font><\/a>\u00a0as per FOI<\/font><\/a> and Flora of Peninsular India<\/font><\/a><\/div>\n

I do not think this is Dalzellia<\/em>. According to the key –\u00a0Flora of Peninsular India<\/font><\/a>\u00a0the flowers here are zygomorphic. Flower morphology is similar to Cladopus hookeriana<\/em><\/font><\/a> (syn Griffithella hookeriana<\/em>). But the family is diverse, so I am not sure if there is enough detail to confirm.<\/div>\n
