Can someone tell me what meant by “ornamental plant” beautiful? cultivar? ? ? ?

An ornamental is a plant which is planted because it looks good, and not for some other reason like medicinal purpose.

… though all plants are beautiful, some of them are known to add beauty to its surroundings by virtue of its appealing form, beautiful foliage (usually dense, not necessarily), attractive flowers (fragrance, not necessary), or very simply because it belongs to foreign land.
Thus, ornamental plants are certainly beautiful … broadly, beautiful plant need not be ornamental.
Cultivars are man-made (alterations) to natural forms of plants
— they are ornamental, if we think of horticultural plants finding their way to gardens, avenues, indoors, &c.
— they are not ornamental, if we think of agricultural plants finding their way to our stomachs !!
Ornamental plants normally please our eyes (or noses !!) … most often do not serve other purpose.
… that is my understanding, some views may need revision.

Ornamental Plants are those which are planted due to their aesthetic beauty.
Cultivar basically means, CULTIVATED VARIETY
Beautiful is an adjective, not a scientific term and it varies according to perception.
