Saw these Sida<\/i> in the Aarey forest<\/span> in Mumbai in November 2016<\/span>. I suspect them to be more than 1 species.
\nIs it possible to ID them?<\/p>\n

I think Sida alnifolia<\/i> L.<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0or<\/span> Sida rhombifolia<\/i> L.<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>for\u00a0 these segregated images.<\/span><\/div>\n\n

Affirmative. This is Sida retusa<\/i>. [Don’t go by the leaves at the top of the plant. Check the leaves lower down<\/span>]. As Dr.Almeida explained to me when I posed the same questions to him – retusa means ‘cut’ – its as if someone has abruptly cut the leaves.<\/span> Whereas in Sida rhombifolia<\/i>, the leaves are rhomboid.<\/span><\/p>\n
