These Asteraceae are so difficult to identify(For me). In general all look like Sun flowers to me.

We should try to make a list of these SUN FLOWERS which are garden escapes.

Good suggestion …, Even H annus has been observed as escape by me at some places

plant ID: Could someone ID the attached plants for me? The pictures were taken in the unkempt yard of Rajput School, Chopasni (Rajasthan) in November.

They obviously don’t need irrigation! Can someone shed some light on how they could be propagated. For the flowers, we could save the seed, but the other plant?

The first flower to me is Verebesina enceloides and the second can be Hyoscyamus albus, both can be propagated by seeds well.

Second one is a henbane… and first one reminds me of the asters of autumn…

First one seems to have gone to seed already, better hurry and start collecting those white fluffy “flowerheads”…

henbane on the other hand develops small capsules that will pop and release hundred of light brown seeds size of mustard … be careul of tiny sharp hairs that prick the skin and lodge in… better use a

piece of fabric (handkerchief) to catch the pod ..about 8 to 10 mm long … collect them before the pop open…

ps second one is medicinal…
