Well branched herb; branchlets slender, white fluffy, old leaves clustered at base. Leaves linear to (ob)lanceolate, 1.5 x 0.4 cm, adpressed woolly, 1-nerved, base attenuate and decurrent, apex acute. Corymbs terminal, to 3 cm wide, with upto 20 capitula; peduncle to 2 cm. Capitula heterogamous, white, 5 mm wide; stalk 1.2 cm; receptacle less than 3 mm wide. Phyllaries 3-seriate, white; outer ones ovate-oblong, 3.5 mm, sub-acute; inner ones oblong-lanceolate, 4 mm, obtuse. Pappus 15-20, 3 mm long. Bisexual florets 30-40 in 3-or 4-series. Corolla tube 3 mm; lobes 5. Stamens 5. Style 3 mm, (sub)exserted. Pistillate florets 10-20 in 2-or 3-series. Corolla-tube 2.5 mm; teeth 5. Style 3 mm, exserted. Achene ovoid, 3-4 angled, scaly.<\/font><\/div>\n

Please help me to identify this Asteraceae herb. Is this any Anaphalis<\/i> sp.?<\/div>\n
The plant height is about 10cm long; head 0.8 cm across.<\/font><\/div>\n
Place: near Glenmorgan dam, Nilgiris, TN<\/font><\/div>\n
Alt.: 2000 m asl<\/font><\/div>\n
Habitat: Grassland<\/font><\/div>\n

Very good find from Nilgiris. Don’t know the plant though.<\/p>\n
