spectacular pic esp the last one…

BUT BANKSIA conjures up the australian candle like yellow or red flowers, … I think has shown them once here, and they are favorites with flower arranging ladies for Ikebana or large arrangements.

Perhaps these may be convincing.

Wonderful pictures. Thanks for sharing. I saw this rose plant with full blooms at a few places at srinagar and was feeling bad I could not capture it as I was in the jeep. Would this come in hotter climes like south

I trust you more than I trust Dave’s garden which is now a commercial venture…

a co on one of the stock exchanges i think owns it… it may not now be a labor of love for the gardeners or the botanists that came to dave’s garden…

Banksia is the problem… i understand someone wanted to oblige Lady Banks and so many things are given the species name Banksia … that’s ok…

I was only getting to the point that me not being a botanist only a gardener and sometimes flower arranger on the side has only one type of flower in my head that’s named Banksia…that’s all…

I googled banksia and ran into several plants named after Lady Banks … she must have been influential or rich or both to have impressed the naming authorities to have varied stuff named after her…. that’s interesting…
