Beautiful upload along with many others.

Great documentation about Himalayan flora.

Androsace is distinguished from Primula by its smaller flowers usually less than 1.3 cm across, and its short corolla tube shorter than calyx which is narrowed and thickened at the mouth; style short.

Many sp. are mat or cushion forming. 22 ssp in Himalaya

… must be correct – this is the only Androsace found at such low elevations. In Nepal recorded from 270-1500m (so this if altitude correct, is even lower). Stewart described it as our only plains species of the genus for Pakistan & Kashmir. Nasir in Primulaceae of Pakistan spoke of the only spring annual. Usually found as an undergrowth in shady places or near streams, ditches or moist embankments.
