Tufted annuals; culms erect, 5 cm high, branched; nodes glabrous. Leaves few, scattered, blade 1-2.5 cm long, filiform or conduplicate, margins with tubercle based hairs; sheaths small, shortly keeled; ligule narrow, membranous. Spikes terminal, solitary. 2.5-4 cm long. cylindrical; rachis compressed, scabrous. Spikelets solitary, biseriate, sunken in the cavities of the rachis along the sides; glumes persistent, unequal, lower one minute, broadly triangular, upper glume 1.5 mm long, lanceolate, smooth, muticous; floret one, bisexual; lemma similar but shorter than the upper glume, cymbiform, obtuse or emarginate; palea similar to lemma, bicuspidate; stamens 3; styles 2, free, stigmas plumose.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
