Family: Anacardiaceae

Date: 6th September 2015

Place: Bangalore, Karnataka

Habit: Short unarmed tree

Habitat: Scrub forest

Description of
R. mysorensis

Description of
R. paniculata

Yes. This is Rhus paniculata often cultivated as an ornamental.

…, could you clarify if you meant that the one I have clicked could have been planted? It was clicked in a patch of scrub that is within city limits and I found a number of these trees growing there. I assumed them to be wild.

It is recorded that this species is sometimes cultivated. Your photographs appear to be taken from a plant growing wild which may be an escape. Look at Ricinus communis which is frequently seen along roadsides and patches of waste lands in Bengaluru as an escape.

Thank you for the clarification sir.
