As per efi thread :

From FOI:
P. parvum … the flowers, often appear before leaves, stamens enclosed in slender cup
P. triflorum … the flowers appear with the leaves, the small staminal cup with toothed fringe

As per efi thread :

The staminal cup differentiates it from Chlorophytum. C. bharchae is a plant of dry rocky hils. This flower is about 6 cm and it is the rare Pancratium parvum. It blooms on first shower in June

Yes, it is Safed Musli. It is growing on the roots of Royal Palm in my house.

If you could give sizes (whole plant, leaves, inflorescence and flowers) it would avoid confusion since the picture does not indicate the required information for an ID. The staminal cup differentiates it from Chlorophytum. C. bharchae is a plant of dry rocky hils. This flower is about 6 cm and it is the rare Pancratium parvum. It blooms on first shower in June.

My flora for”Photo of the Year 2011″: This may not be the best photo of mine, but has some significance for me. Generally monsoon is a difficult place for photography here. I was bracing for a long period of inactivity, but only after a couple of days rain on a better day I ventured out early morning and I came across this beautiful flower which I had missed last year. That was a good omen and start for the new season, and surely many new varities I had missed last season.

Could this be Haemodoraceae?

Looks like from Meliaceae
…………somewhat similar to Turrea villosa or Naregamia alata.
Such a wonderful flower. Do you have any pictures of leaves? It appears to be a shrub isn’t it?

… looks like Pancratium parvum (family: Amaryllidaceae) … ref: Flowers of Sahyadri

or if I am missing something.?
