Cyananthus microphyllus Edgew. And its enemy From Uttarakhand : Attachments (4). 9 posts by 8 authors.

Cyananthus microphyllus Edgew. (Campanulaceae) is a common but beautiful alpine herb. Many times thousands of flowers can be seen on the ground surface making a floral carpet in alpine zones.

Species of this genus Cyananthus develop hirsute hairs on the outer surface of calyx which, in addition to other role (not known to me) also meant for repelling insects since developing fruits are contained in persistent calyx.

In the fourth picture a caterpillar is visible eating only soft succulent and glabrous corolla part leaving hairy calyx.

Here photographed in Nilkanth valley near Badrinath, Uttarakhand.
