Yes\u00a0‘Red Alternanthera’. Most probably\u00a0Alternanthera ficoidea.<\/i><\/p>\n

Iresine herbstii<\/i> –<\/span> a warm temperate plant in Amaranthaceae<\/i><\/span><\/span>, originally from South America,<\/span> I think.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Noted the\u00a0correct ID and thanks for communicating the same to me.\u00a0Sorry … for \u00a0my \u00a0misidentification.\u00a0In fact, I am very familiar with this plant (<\/span><\/span>Iresine<\/i> species)\u00a0and had grown this in my institute’s garden\u00a0a\u00a0decade ago dentified and explained to many \u00a0about the special features of this plant.\u00a0While checking \u00a0your photograph\u00a0I just did the ID in such a hurry that it did not occur to me that I had this plant in my garden and all my attention \u00a0was only on red Alternathera.\u00a0 This is a lesson for non-professional taxonomists like me to be patient while \u00a0checking the characters. Patient pays and hurry\u00a0harms.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I feel this is not\u00a0Iresine herbstii<\/i>.<\/div>\n
This is Purple Amaranthus or Red Amaranthus.<\/div>\n
