\nStrobilanthes perfoliatus<\/span><\/i>, Strobilanthes perfoliata<\/i>, Mackenziea integrifolia<\/i> … all these names appear in some or other sites.
\nDo not know which among these has resolved to be the accepted name.<\/span><\/p>\n

Strobilanthes perfoliatus<\/i>, T. Anderson<\/i> as per “Flora of the Presidency of Bombay by T. Cooke”.
\nStrobilanthes<\/span><\/i> perfoliata<\/i> <\/span><\/span>T.Anderson as per Plant list but it is unresolved name.
\n<\/span>Endopogon integrifolius<\/i> & <\/span>Mackenziea integrifolia<\/i> are synonyms as per Plant list.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n
An unresolved name in The Plant List is a reflection on them, not in any way on the publications which consider it accepted name. So simply ignore such entry in the Plant List.<\/span><\/div>\n
\n

Both Endopogon<\/i> and Mackenziea<\/i> are not recognized genera, even by The Plant List. So ignore them both also, treat simply as synonyms only if they are done in any established publication.<\/span><\/p>\n

Please can some learned botanist explain why this sporadic flowering occurs……I
\nIn some bamboo species when the sporadic flowering occurs, the seeds are not viable and upside is the bamboo does not die after the sporadic flowering DOES THE SAME THING HAPPEN IN CASE OF Wayti<\/b> and Karvi<\/b> also for recently we also noted sporadic flowering of Karvi at SGNP<\/span><\/p>\n

I’m unable to see the leaf texture from your pictures, but the leaf shape is matching. This plant does grow in shady places.
\nKarvi<\/i> likes open sunny locations, although it can also grow in shade.<\/span><\/div>\n

Thank you so much … Yes there were similar looking plants in the same habitat.
\nLeaves of the plants attached in pictures does have entire margine as in <\/span>Mackenziea<\/i> integrifolia<\/i> description. Leaf shape and venation match to <\/span>Mackenziea<\/i> integrifolia.<\/i> Leaf texture of the plants attached in pictures was not wooly, hairy.
\n<\/span>Have one more picture of other plant, similar looking. Will start new thread for it from database management perspective.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
