Medium-sized tree. Leaves elliptic-lanceolate, 12-18 x 5-7cm, acuminate, base cuneate, glabrous, lateral veins 10-12 pairs; petioles 1-2 cm, thickened above. Calyx 4mm, lobes ovate, acute. Petals cream-coloured, 2-2.5 x 0.3-0.4cm. Stamens 2-3mm. Ovary ovoid, 2mm, style \u00b1 as long, thickened above, 3-branched. Capsule ovoid, 2-2.5 x 1.5-2cm, finely tomentose, calyx lobes 1cm long and broad, \u00b1 cordate at base.<\/font><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Checked !!\u00a0 I\u00a0have\u00a0seen\u00a0lots in wild (Deciduous forest, Hill forest\u00a0but never in Lawachara forest. But it is not so\u00a0 similar with H. p.<\/i><\/p>\n

Generally H. p.<\/i> leaves fully fallen before the flowering. But this tree appeared with old leaf\u00a0 <\/p>\n

I can assure you that no other “Apocynaceae<\/i> tree” in ‘Bengal Plants’; except Aganosma marginata<\/i>\u00a0G.Don, a liana; have similar flowers. Maybe FBI has an entry and I am in no mood to check that.<\/p>\n

I agree with your view and I did note that at least two of your uploads didn’t find their entries in Bengal-Plants. FBI should have an entry of your tree and I will try to find it out.<\/p>\n

Please check the thread<\/font><\/a>. Thanks to Santanu for sharing and cracking the ID. Your species seems to be same Vatica lanceifolia<\/i>\u00a0(Roxb.) Blume<\/font><\/a> (there are spelling issues, check below).<\/div>\n
